It is with pleasure that I again get the chance to see the Bermondsey Joyriders, London’s finest bluesy punk band, and with The Phobics once more in tow I was sure that this night could only be a winner. Tonight’s show presented exactly the same line-up as the last time I saw the Joyriders, with burlesque dancer Luna Rosa included. But tonight the scene was the infamous Madame JoJo’s, and the occasion the launch of the eagerly awaited new album, ‘Noise and Revolution’. The Joyriders’ recent grip on the London scene has been timely, and the new album greatly received in a post-riot, cut and bruised country. A striking video for ‘Society Is Rapidly Changing’ has even been made containing those now familiar images of the riots that have been plastered across every media platform. It seems that The Bermondsey Joyriders have become something of an iconic soundtrack to these uncertain times.
